JBJ Soul Kitchen and Faith Fellowship

Updated: Mar 19, 2018

Leaders of Faith Fellowship Outreach met with homeless advocate James Abro at Jon Bon Jovi's Soul Kitchen last week. On the menu, ending homelessness in Ocean County. JBJ Soul Kitchen is a non-profit Community Restaurant, run by the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, that serves paying and in-need customers. If you are unable to pay for your meal, you can volunteer at JBJ Soul Kitchen as your payment. One hour of volunteer time earns a dining certificate that feeds the volunteer and up to 4 family members. JBJ Soul Kitchen has 2 locations: Toms River and Red Bank.

Mr. Abro is s the author of Facing Homelessness, a personal memoir of homelessness and recovery. He is the founder of Advocate for Economic Fairness and 32 Beach Productions. He works locally with community-based homeless outreach groups, and nationally as an advocate for homeless rights. He is a regular contributor to Rebelle Society, and TalkPoverty, as well as an active member of the New Jersey Coalition to End Homelessness and the Anti-Poverty Network of New Jersey. Hearing of the work that we are doing to open The Reformation house, Mr. Abro contacted us to see how we can join forces in the quest to end homelessness in Ocean County.
